Multicultural Competence in Clinical Supervision

About Course

Working with clients and supervisees who are different from us can sometimes be challenging. This session will help to define multiculturalism and explore strategies and techniques for addressing the differing needs of supervisees and their clients, in a multicultural context.

Learning Objectives

1. Learn and utilize the skills required for facilitating conversations surrounding diversity and multi-cultural competence with supervisees as they relate to their role as a clinician.

2. Develop awareness of personal biases, beliefs, attitudes, and judgements and how they may affect perceptions of and interactions with others.

3. Identify strategies for integrating multi-cultural competencies into their supervision process to enable the supervisee to do so with their clinical work.
